51 percent of me says Guy should have been given another year.
49 percent of me says Scott Barnes was correct in firing Guy Monday.
The problem is that we won't know if Barnes' decision is right until next year at this time. By then the new coach will have a winning record, or he will not.
As sad as it is to see a good man like Guy let go, remember that he had one more year on his contract, and will be payed for that year without doing anything. He makes $275,000 a year.

so that makes how many coaches on the payroll now that aren't working?? When are they going to wise up and realize all that good money could be spent on something worthwhile???
Hmmm.... it seems we chose the wrong profession...
it's sad to see coach guy lose his job, and it's kinda pathetic to see the football program start over... AGAIN! but, as we've seen from years and years of experience --- it doesn't really matter who coaches the aggies, they're still gonna suck or be mediocre at best.
everybody points to the john L years as being so wonderful, but even he had a losing record overall at USU. he also left the program to his buddy --- dave arslanian --- after ditching the team for louisville. to be honest, i'm not sure even urban meyer could win here. no money coming in from fans, a measly state budget and facilities that, while being better than they used to be, are still way behind utah and BYU... it's just too hard to compete with them for recruits and put a legitimately successfull team on the field. i say good luck to guy's replacement, and whomever you are, you can thank guy for doing all he could to rebuild one of the worst football programs in the FBS.
