Being 45 minutes away from a temple is somewhat new for us (Ukraine didn't have a temple and missionaries there don't have the visa problems missionaries in Russia do, so missionaries in Ukraine do not attend for two years). We liked the old setup of driving 90 seconds to the Logan Temple.We had a good time. It sure is a beautiful temple.
Some interesting facts about this temple from lds.org:
- The original tower of the St. George Utah Temple, which Brigham Young considered "squatty," fell casualty to a lightning storm about a year after its dedication. A new tower was completed several years later, taller and more majestic than the first.
- The St. George Utah Temple is the first temple where endowments for the dead were performed.
- The Founding Fathers of the United States of America appeared twice to Wilford Woodruff in the St. George Utah Temple asking why their temple work had yet not been performed on their behalves. A striking painting depicting this singular event hangs in the temple lobby (That We May be Redeemed by Harold I. Hopkinson).

How fun! I'm glad you guys made it to the temple. Who watched Lucy while you were there? I miss you!!! Lucy's already growing up so much.
That little girl is already getting so big. That temple is beautiful!
We took turns doing initiatory while the other had Lucy. The grounds are really beautiful and we would have taken more pictures but that day was so very hot we just stayed in one place. Lucy was very good and slept nearly the whole trip, car ride and all.
