Dad is missing from this video because he's traveling with the USU football team for its bowl game in San Diego. We're not used to his absence during Christmas because the Aggies aren't usually playing over Christmas break. In fact, this year the team is competing in its third consecutive bowl game — something that's never happened in school history. Ah, the cruel price of success!
