Senior Missionaries and Mormon "Retirement"

Today I give a presentation on social media to five new senior Church Public Affairs missionaries. This batch of missionaries includes three couples (headed to New Dehli, Madagascar and Samoa) and one single sister (on her way to Brussels).

These folks are older and don't "get" social media. But that's OK because they know they're on earth to follow Jesus Christ and serve other people — something far more important than being a social media savant. These good people, some of them on their third mission, show us that from a Christ-centered perspective, there's really no such thing as "retirement" in a proper understanding of "endure to the end."

The Church is full of senior couples and individuals (my in-laws included) who don't just stop and rest at retirement. They march on in the cause to build the kingdom of God.
