More of Wednesday:
We visited Brigham Young's winter home and got a tour by a lovely senior missionary.
It is painted how Brigham Young had it in 1873. Apparently, when white paint for the temple arrived in St. George it was the wrong color, green. So many of the older homes in the area are painted in this pretty sage green.
We made the last tour of the day before the senior missionaries left and they needed help with putting the flag away. Sammy was happy to oblige.
We saw this in the parking lot of the tabernacle. We missed the tabernacle tours earlier in the day but came back in the evening for a free concert. It turned out to be a collection of students from the local high school who received a superior rating from the State Music Competition. I know a little about this sort of thing and was pleasantly surprised, although not completely.
The day couldn't end without us trying out an intriguing frozen yogurt place we'd passed several times and we weren't disappointed.

Thursday we ventured into beautiful Snow Canyon.
We didn't want to do anything strenuous considering my condition and the heat so our favorite hike was the short Pioneer Names walk which was completely in the shade.
If you look very closely at the middle and a bit to the left on this sheer rock cliff you'll see a very small rock climber. (Insert my dropping jaw at seeing this.) His friend was at the bottom and actually had a CAT with him. Has anyone ever seen a hiker with a cat before? Dogs, yes. Donkeys even, but a cat?
After we drove back from the canyon and had a little lunch we took the tour of the tabernacle. These stairs are completely free standing and made by Mitt Romney's great grandfather.
It is a beautiful building and much like Logan's tabernacle except
smaller and much prettier. Sorry Logan, but even pine painted to look
like nicer woods is better than layer upon layer of white and gold.
On our last evening, after a short swim in our pool we drove to the Tuacahn Theater in Ivins to see Brian Regan.
And he did not disappoint. He had me crying in the first ten minutes because I was laughing so hard. He was even great at improvising when it got dark and a large moth attacked him. If anyone gets the chance to see him live, DO IT. Or tell us about it and we'll go again. :)
The only casualty from our trip home was our Haagen Das carton. Usually trying to keep something frozen by putting it on ice is a good idea just not when that something is a little wet when trying to be frozen.
We had an excellent time but were glad to get our Lucy back after 5 days with Grandma. Thank you, Thank you again, mom!

I am glad you could get this trip and have some time together. It sounds perfect. I loved having Lucy with me. She was just as entertaining as your trip!
Those are some neat facts. Thanks for sharing. We love Menchie's! There is one just across the street from us. And we love Brian Regan too - hooray for live shows!!
Awesome trip! So glad you guys had so much fun. I love the rock climber picture. I can just imagine you watching that guy and saying, "Is he out of his mind?!" (At least that's what I would do). People are funny. Oh, and next time Brian Regan comes anywhere close we'll go with you!
So fun! Good to know that Bryan Reagan is funny live. We've thought about going to see him before, but we didn't know if it would be worth it.
I've never seen a hiker with a cat. how did he keep it near by? Was it on a leash?
Hahaaaahahaha "insert dropped jaw" that made me laugh! Also, sooo jealous you got to see him live. I hope you memorized the act so you can replay it for me :)
